Hide AdAll About Murder revolves around two thriller writers who are struggling for inspiration and have dwindling funds. This murder-mystery with comedic elements runs from August 31 to September 4 and will be staged by Tabs Productions.
The plays, which feature five actors in each, will be directed by John Goodrum and Karen Henson.
John said: “Karen and I are both alumni of the Colin McIntyre summer rep seasons at the Pomegranate back in the 1980s, and Tabs and Rumpus have presented occasional seasons at various times of the year since. It’s great that Chesterfield Theatres has revived the summer rep tradition in recent years, first with a few seasons presented by Paul Taylor MIlls. Our forthcoming Tabs and Rumpus season was originally planned for 2020, but was of course postponed to this year.
”After what has been such a difficult year and a half for everyone, the aim of this year’s season was to give our audiences a good laugh.”

Hide AdAfter various online projects while theatres were closed during lockdown, Karen and John returned to the Pomegranate stage to act in the comedy Live Bed Show.
John said: "To be back, live, hearing an audience react, laugh, gasp, applaud – there’s nothing like it and we feel very lucky to experience it.
”The enthusiasm of audiences and their evident desire to come back to live theatre is heart-warming.”
Both companies will present another three-play season at the Pomegranate in January/February 2022.
