Derbyshire records surge in Covid-19 cases

In the latest data from Public Health England, Derby's infection rate now stands at 481.9, up by 79.2 percent or 1,240 new cases per 100,000 people in the week up to December 31.
Other boroughs have also recorded an increase with North East Derbyshire having 304 new cases, an increase of 42.7 percent or 91 cases.

Hide AdMeanwhile, Bolsover recorded an increase of 46.3 percent with 278 new cases in the borough during the same period.
In the High Peak, 208 new cases were recorded, an increase of 60 cases from the previous week.
Chesterfield also recorded a surge in Covid-19 cases, where 250 new cases were recorded, up by 28.9 percent.
England's rate of infection now stands at 537.5 per 100,000, an increase of 30 percent.
