So we have put together ten hacks to help you look after your garden during these testing times. And, even if you don’t have a garden a lot of these will work on potted plants.
1. Have more plants without a garden centre
A spokesman for the National Trust said: "Dig out a hardy plant with leaves, keeping as much of the original root ball attached. Use two garden forks, back-to-back, to prize the roots apart". Photo: Simon Hulme
2. Make your own seed pots
Sharpen Your Spades suggested cutting four flaps into toilet roll and fold them together to form a base. "Fill the seed pots with some good seed compost and sow your seeds. The pots hold up really well. They can take watering without falling apart." Photo: MA
3. Keep your tomatoes safe from aphids
