Man, 64, is left with a broken jaw after assault in Derbyshire

Derbyshire police are appealing for information about an alleged assault in Riddings where a 64-year-old man’s jaw was broken.

The man was walking along a footpath from Church Street and Park Mews in Riddings, to Park Side in Somercotes at around 10.30pm on Friday 3 January when the incident happened.

He was allegedly approached by two men, who had been walking in the opposite direction when, without warning, he has been punched to the ground.

The man was treated in hospital for his injuries.

Officers have asked anybody with any information on the assault to come forward and help them in their inquiries.
