Derbyshire police dog stabbed four times will be 'back on duty soon'
A police dog who went through surgery after being stabbed four times with a knife is "recovering well", says police.
Police Dog Axle was left needing surgery after the incident on High Street, Riddings on July 4, after reports of a 'disturbance'.
A spokesman from Derbyshire Dog Police said: "PD Axle sends his thanks to all who have mentioned and sent their best wishes to him and his handler.
"He’s recovering well and will soon be back on duty."
