Fire crews tackle bus blaze on busy Derbyshire road

Firefighters from Chesterfield and Bakewell Fire Stations were called to the bus blaze on Bottom Row, Wadshelf, at 7.17am today (September 15).
Crews extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets and made the scene safe before handing it over to Derbyshire police for vehicle recovery.

Hide AdDerbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said highways officers were also in attendance due to a small diesel spill.
No further details on the cause of the fire have been revealed.
At around 8.25am this morning, the Derbyshire Police Contact Centre said the A619 was closed due to a ‘police incident’ and urged motorists to “avoid travelling that way if you can, diversions have been put in place.”
However, in an update shortly after 9am, the contact centre said the road has now reopened.
