Derbyshire leisure centre staff ‘Brave the Shave’ to raise over £1,000 for Macmillan
Alex Graves, Wendy Taylor and Sean McNiffe, who work at Alfreton Leisure Centre, all braved the shave on Friday, September 17, to raise funds for the charity.
The idea and motivation for losing their locks was to honour Wendy’s niece Natalie as she is currently facing her own battle with cancer.

The team said: “A massive thank you to all that have kindly donated to this amazing cause, and a thankyou to #TeamAlfreton and the Placemaker team in supporting and encouraging the donations and sponsorships."
Since 2015, those who have braved the shave for Macmillan have raised over £22.7 million – funding which could pay for 140 Macmillan nurses for three years.
Donations can still be made to support the efforts of staff at Alfreton Leisure Centre by visiting www.bravetheshave.macmillan.org.uk/shavers/wendy-taylor.
