'Talented and gorgeous' beauty therapist, 20, from Chesterfield salon wins top UK award

Jayde Sumner, 20, has been awarded Beauty Therapist of the Year for the East Midlands by the UK Hair and Beauty Awards at the end of last month.

The UK Hair and Beauty Awards are the leading national awards in the industry, recognising businesses of all sizes across the country.

Jayde said: “I was shocked when I got an email with the certificate of Beauty Therapist of the Year for the East Midlands. I told my mum first and she got excited and hugged me. She wanted to tell everyone straight away. And then she did. My family and friends were proud and impressed.”

Jayde who lives in Dronfield, has been training to become a beauty therapist for three years prior to joining the team at Brampton Beauty Retreat, on Chatsworth Road in Chesterfield, two years ago.

Jayde said: “What I really enjoy is meeting different people every day. It is quite busy most of the time – always a client in, a client out. But it's a happy, cheery environment with everyone talking and so many different personalities.”

In a statement published on their Facebook page, the beauty salon said: “Jayde has placed 1st for Beauty Therapist of the year in the East Midlands at the The UK Hair and Beauty Awards!
