SNOW: Derbyshire wakes up to potentially hazardous winter wonderland
Residents across the county are waking up to what could be an especially hazardous winter’s morning.
A Met Office ‘be aware’ snow warning is in force in Derbyshire until noon today.

Hide AdExperts at the Met Office said some areas have seen accumulations of two to five centimetres overnight.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: “There may be further localised accumulations of several centimetres before the snow becomes lighter and patchier later this morning.
“Total accumulations of ten centimetres or more, including that already fallen, are possible over hills.”
The county is also under a severe cold weather alert.
Daytime temperatures will struggle to exceed 1C in many towns and villages across the area today.

Hide AdEmergency services are urging members of the public to take extra care and to look out for each other.
Derbyshire County Council’s team of gritters has been treating roads since yesterday afternoon.
A council spokesman said: “If you need to travel, please drive with care.”
